About This Blog

This blog is the compilation of the information collected over 25 years of professional clock repair experience. The repair of antique and modern mechanical clocks was documented on approximately 15,200 clocks or about 35,000  hours of clock repair experience. This is a work in progress. It will likely take a year or longer to organize and properly explain all the details.  Tool making, lathe work, and problem solving methods are covered, along with information about specifications of parts found in these clocks. There will be frequent changes as the content is edited and refined. This journal was written as work was done at the bench under time constraints, so the information must be interpreted and the gaps filled in. This will take considerable time.
